History
This is a brief history of the school, it's grounds and it's students. If you know, or find out anything about the school's past be sure to let us know so we can add it.
1862
- Clayton Primary School was founded as the only school in the area.
1909
- Current Administration Building built as the school's main classrooms. This picture showing the teachers and students was in the Weekly Times, 17th July 1909 (Page 28)

Here is the Minister of Education of the day, Mr Billson MLA, with the parents and school council.

1933
- Two local students accidentally drown. A monument is erected in the school grounds for them and the man who tried to rescue them, but also perished.
1954
- The school's name was to Clayton North Primary School when another primary school was built in the area.
2002
- Work started on stage one of a major rebuilding of the school's facilities. One wing of four classrooms and a Media Centre & Library were built.
2005
- Stage two of the rebuilding commences when the old timber Grade 5/6 area was demolished and a new open learning space created.
- New building works officially opened by Hon. Jacinta Allen MP.
2006
- Rukshana Verzijl appointed as principal.
- Flagpole in entry rosegarden is donated by the Australian Government.
