Student Leadership & Voice
School Captains
At Clayton North Primary School, our School Captains are positive role models who demonstrate leadership, responsibility and school pride. They play an important role in supporting our school community and helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. Captains lead our weekly school assemblies, welcome and greet visitors and guests, represent the school at special events and activities, and support younger students as Foundation buddies. Through these opportunities, our School Captains develop their confidence, communication and leadership skills while learning the importance of responsibility, teamwork and contributing positively to the wider school community.
Student Representative Council
At Clayton North Primary School, our Student Representative Council (SRC) provides students with a meaningful opportunity to have their voices heard and contribute to our school community. Student representatives work together to share ideas, raise issues, discuss matters that are important to students and contribute to decisions and initiatives that help shape school life.
SRC members also assist with selecting SWPBS whole school awards, provide student perspectives on school issues and contribute ideas about school improvements and initiatives. Through regular meetings and consultation with their peers, SRC members develop leadership, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills while learning that their ideas and perspectives can make a difference.
The SRC is an important part of our commitment to student voice and agency, ensuring students have genuine opportunities to contribute to our school community and help make Clayton North Primary School a place where all students feel heard, valued and included.
